MetLife Veterans Network (MVET)
MetLife’s Military Veterans Network (MVET) is an employee-founded and employee-run diversity business resource network that is open to all colleagues who are passionate about advocating for veterans. Members donate their time to promote the goals of attracting, developing and retaining military veterans at MetLife, as well as building a working culture that truly values veterans and their contributions. To date, MVET has several regional chapters in locations throughout the country.
Building a National Veterans' Community
MetLife takes pride in our commitment to supporting veterans and their families. Our associates are focused on building a national community that helps transition veterans from military service & find meaningful employment. Through various funding programs, projects and grants, we also aid in the caring of veterans who have been injured mentally or physically from conflict, and contribute to programs that support service member’s families, including:
American Corporate Partners (ACP) – MetLife supports ACP by providing mentors to veterans and transitioning service members to help identify and progress in the post military career.
Bunker Labs – Bunker Labs empowers veterans to be leaders in innovation by providing educational programming, mentors, events, and thriving local networks to help them start and grow businesses.
Blue Star Museums – From Memorial Day to Labor Day, military families enjoy free admission to over 900 participating museums through the help of grants from MetLife Foundation and other organizations.
Valor Games Southeast – Valor Games invites disabled Veterans and members of the Armed Forces from around the country for 3 days of spirited competition in 11 adapted sports. Each year MetLife provides volunteers and grants for the annual production of the games as well as the construction of the first of its kind low profile wheelchair accessible dock.
Combating Veterans Homelessness – By providing Predevelopment Grants over the last several years to the National Equity Fund, Metlife assisted in the construction of 1,250 units for homeless veterans and continues that mission today!
Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) – Canine Companions for Independence is an organization that enhances the lives of disabled veteran’s and all people with disabilities by providing highly-trained assistance dogs with ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships.
